motorcycle greetings from alaska!

Post by Cookie Sims » Wed Jul 31, 2002 8:05 pm

Hi all - My web use is timed - so sorry I have to make this quick. I arrived in Anchorage today - what a ride to get here! The scenery on the way in from Tok is stunning. Will be in Anch for the next few days, then on to Kenai Pen, Denali, and hopefully the Arctic Circle. The local Kawi dealer let me wash the bike, as we're both completely filthy from road construction grime. Haven't seen ANY mc's packed for heading north - everyone's on their way south - saw at least one other KLR rider (north of Liard?) on the Alcan. I'm having a blast! The KLR is eating the miles like candy - I'm trying to keep up. Just wanted to touch base. Thanks to all the KLR listers who offered support on the way north - I'll keep your info handy for the return trip. To those who are wondering how the bike and gear are handling - I don't want to jinx anything - I speak no truths until the trip is done ;-) More later I promise... Enjoy the summer! Not all who wander are lost :-) Cookie PS Please watch who you "reply to" - this message goes to family, friends, and a big motorcycle yahoo group list :-)
