Just a quick note to let you know that my bike is now sorted. Thanks to every one for the advice, especially Jim Hyman for the in-depth break down off all the symptoms. After following each of his suggested step, it rightly pointed at a faulty Regulator / Rectifier. I got the replacement from * http://www.electrexworld.co.uk/ * for 60 including next day delivery. Now getting ready for a 2 day rally in North Yorkshire at the end of the month. Thanks again Rick
