I just so happens that I installed the Maier hand guards and covers a few days ago. The only drilling required was for the plastic cover to attach it to the hand guards. That and cutting the end of the throttle slide to get access to the hallow bar. No bending was required. I did have to slide the clutch and break levers in a little bit to that they did not interfere with the guards. The levers are angled down just a bit from the guards. They feel comfortable, however. Went riding in the woods yesterday, but fortunatly didn't get a chance to test how strong the really are> - Installation requires drilling and tapping > (1/4-20) if you want to > mount plastic hand covers over them. They are pretty solid, though.
All in all, in sounds like the Maier were not as
difficult to install.
