garbage truck front brake noise

Mark and I replaced my front tire and brake line on Saturday.
Yesterday, my front brake developed a loud drone -- like a garbage
truck coming to a halt. Happens under firm braking, just before I
come to a stop. I'm sure spraying a little WD-40 on the pads would
eliminate it (and me, in the process). Any real suggestions? The
pads are stockers, with 5K on them. We didn't mess with the caliper
or pads at all (except for installing a speed-bleeder).

My KLR does that sometimes as well, also so does my Bandit. It's
because I replaced the pads on both, and did not bother to grease the
backs of the pads, and also the edges. They are vibrating against
the pistons which makes that noise.
If it doesn't go away I will eventually get to it, it doesn't take
ten minutes.

My brakes started doing this when I fit the EBC sintered pads. Only
under very hard braking, and only when hot.
I suggest ignoring it.

I always smear some anti-seize on the backs of the pads... It helped
with the noise (for some reason unknown to me) when I had my stock
caliper on my KLR. I still do it now even though it takes a near stoppie
with KLX brakes to get it to moan.

Did you guys get some of that thar brake fluid on dem dar pads and rotors.
Try cleaning the pads and rotor with some mineral spirits. Clean mineral
spirits.

That's a good idea also. When I get ready to put new ones on mine I spray
the backs of the pad plates with brake quite. It sets up to a very thick
grease. Best way to apply it is to spray some on a small brush and coat the
back of the pad plates. Don't get any on the pads.

Nope. We got Slime all over the place. (Not on the rotor.) Looked
like we shot an alien in the driveway! (Mark tried to power-through
a plugged valve stem with his kung fu grip.)
I greased up the backs of the pads. Will try 'em out tomorrow.

I don't mean to beat a dead sheep, but just buy sheepskin...it's cheap and easy and if you don't like it you can throw it away. Corbin is a lot of dough. I have no doubt that it is a phenominal product, but it was not in my budget.

I was sort of reluctant to make the trip, on the bike but I'll go for it.
I am going to stay with the 15T Sprocket, since I like to take to the dirt.
But, I just should have ordered that Corbin or TravelCade earlier. But, I can handle the ride.
