nklr in case of accident...

I'm riding down to Moab next week - traveling solo. This will be my
first extended motorcycle trip.
I've put a great deal of research/planning into my gear choices
(thanks to the list), but one thought occurs to me. What should I
carry in the way of emergency info (emergency contact phone #'s,
medical info, etc.)? Where should I carry this info? I'm thinking
of printing up some sort of ID card and carrying multiple copies -
maybe one in my jacket and one on the bike. Any ideas?
Better safe than sorry...
Thanks,
Doug B.

Hey Doug,
I have seen some people print out a sticker that they put on their
helmets, right in front where anyone could see if you are lying
unconcious on the ground, with all pertinant info in case of an
accident. Name, address, phone #, blood type, any allergies, etc...
Also on the helmet is a big bold notice "Do NOT remove helmet!"
That's in case some good samaritan gets to them first. I personally
have not set my helmets up this way yet, but it is a good idea. Plus,
put the info in your wallet, and if you like, put it conspicuously on
the tank (or tankbag map pocket). Bright colors get attention. My 2
cents...

Attach it to the front of your helmet. In case of an emergency anyone
attempting to remove your helmet would see it.

Sounds like a very good idea. Make sure you have a cell phone and also consider a sticker on your helmet that says not to remove until in the hospital to lessen damage - I have seen a few of those.
