Last May a buddy and I did 1,024 miles in just under 20 hours. We would have qualified for a Saddle Sore 1000 award but never got around to turning in the paperwork. We went from Lubbock to Amarillo, then over to Albuquerque on I-40. From Albuquerque we went to El Paso on I-25. From El Paso we took state highways through Carlsbad and Hobbs then back up to Lubbock. I had no problems and was going 70-75 mph most of the time. Toward the end of the ride we were stopping every 50 miles or so because of "monkey butt". He was on a Concours and I was on my KLR(A14)with the stock seat. The next day I seriously considered having my ass amputated!!! I am glad I did it but I would not do it again with the stock seat.
