valve adj. shim kit?

Howdy all!
Is there such an animal? Take it apart, measure, drive three hours
round trip to "local" dealer, spend $4/shim - not my idea of a fun
Saturday morning. Is there a box with all shim sizes available for a
reasonable price out there?
Thanks,
Lee

There is indeed! Check out the 16 shim "kit" that Fred Hink has put
together -
Email and just ask him about it at: fred@...
Visit his website at:
www.arrowheadmotorsports.com
Fred is a good guy to deal with, will do what he says, when he says he'll do
it.
Reasonable pricing, and he's able to provide tech support.
Wise men still seek Him...

$4.00 for a shim???? My local dealer wanted $12.00 + for each one. Must be
that special gold plating.

Since the valves don't have to checked that often and you only use a select
few sizes, I'd stay with buying the idiv. shims. BMW K bikes (the older
ones) use the identical 29mm shims and sell for the same $4 price. The
upside to going with Fred is you'll probably buy a bunch more fun stuff with
your shims. PLUS we must keep him in business. Good thing he doesn't sell
drugs or I'd be a junkie.

1972 Yamaha CT1 175 (3,000+ miles, currently with some "issues")
2000 Kawasaki KLR 650 (more fun than I probably should be having)
Toss me an email to to purchase the soon to famous KLR vavle adjustment

and a portion of the proceeds go towards the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer

Thanks again MotoMark for listing my junk!

You might want to check with a BMW dealer. The K series uses the same
shims and they only charged me $2.50 each for them. Even the parts
guy was amazed when he looked up the price!
