Well it is time to buy new tires for my KLR650. I call dual Star and
they said avon has discontinued the am24 gripsters is this true?
What other tires would you recommend for a person who rides 95%
 street.

 Thanks
 Kyle

I put a set of Michelin Siracs on a few months ago and love 'em.
Excellent street bite and mucho better off-road than the stock
Dunlops. MAW has the best price I have found.

Just returned to the swamp after four days of riding the trails and dirt
roads around Lake and Mount Shasta (Redding, Yreka). Great stuff! But I
gotta tell you, some of your cage drivers don't deserve to live! No wonder
CA drivers are shooting each other! I think the wild guy in the tank I saw
on TV might have been the only thoughtful driver in the area. Not that FL
 drivers are any better.

Proved again that our prototype helmet sets and FRS radios are
indispensible. Full time communications opens up a whole new world in dirt
 riding.

GPS with local map data is also a confidence builder. Just get lost, then
find yourself with the GPS. No worries running out of gas, or daylight.

What a blast offroad in Northern California is! Just pick a cooler time of
year to visit. Had Foster's on tap in the Redding Outback that tasted better
than it did in Melbourne! It's a shame they haven't figured out how to make
their 'Roo taste more like beef. There'll never be a real Aussie restaurant
in the US until they figure out how to import fresh Barramundi and Toohey's
 (SP?).

And don't miss the Vietnam Memorial Park near Mount Shasta. Many thought
provoking sculptures in the most beautiful setting, absolutely free. Good
example of what a concerned citizen can accomplish without government
meddling. The MIA sculpture will wrench your gut.

Next scheduled DS adventure for our group . . . Florida Keys in October.
