hard to start after 87 octane gas

I just had to put 87 octane gas in my bike. Since then it starts cold but wont start warm unless i hold the throttle open while i crank it. After that it will idle. Is this a no no with this bike or does anyone think that my exhaust valve might have gone tight, warm engine problem? Its a 2000 with 2000 miles on it and both vavles were in spec when I checked them at 500 miles.
Thanks
jt

My 2000 seems happy on 87, no starting issues.
Coincidence?

Hi, it's probrobably not a fuel problem.. I had performance and starting
problem long time ago when the exaust connector on the cylinder head get
loose.
Good luck in resolving this problem.

From your description of his demeanor, he was probably abused by a Harley
gang sometime during his childhood.
