Hey all,
I remember a thread a while back with some good ideas for what to place
under your side stand on hot asphalt. Can't find anything about it though. I
remember one had a string attached to get it up more easily. Any thoughts? I
need something double quick.
Thanks,

Jim:
I use a cover from a 4 inch round or square steel electrical junction box.
I don't use a string. I just pick it up before getting on the bike.
Thanks.

I just use a lid off a jar. Usually have a couple heading for the
trash each week.

This is whay I use too. I have a string with a loop that I hang on my
clutch lever.

I make mine out of aluminum, tap (1/4-20) the bottom of the side stand foot
and then bolt the plate to the bottom (plate has counter sink to the bolt is
flush). I drill out the aluminum so it looks cool too (and a bit like Swiss
cheese). I'm making one for a friend. Send me 10.00 and I'll make a second.
The only requred skill is putting the treads in the bottom of the foot, not
too hard.

Since trace amounts can be detected months after a single weed
smoking act, the pilot would probably lose his first class medical
(taken every six months), which is an automatic suspension of flying
privileges. Testing is at least every six months, or more often,
depending on individual airline drug test practices. Nothing's
perfect, but the accident record says the problem is not centered
with commercial pilots.
