biggun hp lying dyno?
Posted: Fri Apr 13, 2001 1:15 pm

Hi,
Well be amazed, I just fished out my dyno sheets.
These two runs were done with different gearing so I will only quote the
maximun HP shown for that run.
Stock pipe and jetting. 33.0 hp at 85 deg F 30.02 in Gearing stock
Big Gun AND rejetting. 37.3 hp at 89.4 deg F 29.95 in Gearing 14/45
The hp gain at lower rpm was higher, maybe not 20% but very close.
These runs were done at Cycle City. Jun 10, 2000 and Aug 11, 2000
I am also so told by some reliable Husky guys that Biggun improvements are
similar or GREATER.

biggun hp lying dyno?

I'm sorry, I still think I am correct.
You detuned the engine by enrichening the fuel circuit and not
enlarging the exhaust to match.
I did a search of the archives for stock HP rating, I could have
swore it was 36 HP, and lookie what I found:

So I am still not amazed, and you have a net gain of 1.3 HP over
stock. Woopee.
I know the seat of the pants dyno screams 8 HP!!! But that's all
wishful thinking compounded by decibels.
If noise was power, my KLR would run 7 seconds in the quarter mile.
