The earlier LR front progressives were actually not made originallyfor the KLR....even though no one admits that. However, they're better than stock......and many are okay with this level of improvement. The later(longer) LR front progressives were designed for the bike. They allow a little more travel. Perhaps just enough to make it 'plush'. Elden runs these with 175mm of 10w oil and claims they're wonderful(Note: He's added one port/hole to the lowers as well....which makes things better yet.) I believe less spacer=more fun, as long as there's no space, or long sag, in the system. If I'm right Gino's the only one who has 'top springs' which replace the spacers in the early LR scenario...... What I'm still curios about is whats better: The Gino Scenario or the the Newer LRs with 2.5" spacer..............They gotta be pretty near the same feel.........My understanding is that the newer LR's fit the shock tube dia. better. Now if someone would just update the DSN web site about installation of these new springs and the different length of the spacers. It is causing mucho confusion. Fred

Would someone volunteer to rewrite the article? Should we just pull the old one? I don't have a KLR to do the write-up and pics... As luck would have it i am waiting eagerly for Progressive to finish making my rear shock and front springs. As soon as i get them, i will be doing a tech piece. I'll keep you all informed. PS, tommorrow I venture to a far off land called Santa Ana to pick up my body parts that have been Line-X'd, story and photos by thursday night.
