Sorry for the short notice, but we'd better take advantage of the break in the weather while we can. This ride will be over Sierra Madre Rd down off of Hwy 166. Here is my Plan: 1) Meet at the Shell Station off of the Spyglass Exit in Shell beach at 9am, Saturday March 3rd 2) Take Hwy101 to Santa Maria for gas stop to top off (longer ride) if it is felt that it is needed. 3) Backtrack to Hwy166--continue out to Sierra Madre Rd 4) Take Sierra Madre Rd looping back to Hwy166 5) Meal and fuel stop in New Cuyama 6) Head home This is a longer ride so prep for Monkey Butt! I can carry 1.5 gallons of gas if someone thinks they will need it. Let me know who's going so nobody gets left behind. Kurt suggested this ride, here is how he describes it: "The Sierra Madre Road is a good usually graded fire road with no technical difficulties at all, just a 4000+ elevation gain and incredible views. The ride down Cottonwood Canyon is also easy but very pretty. All in all it is no harder than riding over High Mountain. Closest gas would be New Cuyama. It has been almost a year since I was up there but the road is usually kept open because there are microwave towers both up by Miranda Pines Camp and then some 25 miles or so further south. " Let's Ride!! David

This is sad but I can go to my newspaper archive for my city and give you hundreds that are worse. Life is the same everywhere. Be as careful as you can and shrug off the rest. Don't live your life in fear of death for death cannot be avoided forever. David King --- Fred Hink wrote:
