Toby, I'm having problems with MSN. It's hard to get your e-mail over the web, much easier with AOL. Also, I can consistently connect to AOL at >41000 but rarely can get above 24000 with MSN. Gino

I think it's pretty obvious. On the plus side, you do get that new Garmin III +. On the minus side, you are now stuck with MSN service for a couple of years... ;-) Buying a Garmin at full retail seems like a bargain now that I've thought about it... ;-) YISPMV, Gustavo - Some of my best friends work for the Evil Empire...

Hi gang: I'm using CompuServe (for the $400 rebate on a computer) and it's new 6.0 version tells me it's connecting at 115,200. What kind of crap is that? It's apparently telling me what I have it set at, not what the actual speed is. I have a 56k modem. In this case, obviously, I can't believe the speed at which the ISP says they are connecting me. Toby- DON'T DO IT! You're much better off either putting that money towards a good service provider (I don't know how much you travel, but I find the Mindspring/Earthlink conglomerate to have very good coverage all over the US) @ $10-$20 a month for a year, rather than the $21.99 that Micro$oft wants out of you for 4 years. Yes, your email will instantly recieve spam (anyone with a hotmail account will know this... Micro$oft isn't too good with the ol'privacy thing) and you will have to deal with having to use a Microsoft OS to view your mail and to connect to internet. I just saw last night AT&T is offering monthly service for $9.95/month. I don't know about you, but I avoid long term contracts (and four years is a long time when it comes to the internet), and with technology moving as quickly as it does, you'll have a broadband connection availible for the same price in a years time. I would say that the GPS is going to cost you a whole lot more than the $1000 that you'll pay out for service... Good luck... Sorry to tell you Lew, but the maximum speed anyone can connect over the dial up network is 53K. This is not limited by the modem, pc, or ISP but the telephone network. That is the maximum that we are allowed by rule to pass over the switched network. So even if it tells you that you are connected at a higher speed, it ain't so. I can settle the Dino/Synth question, at least in my own mind... Belray sells... (get this!!) Semi-Synthetic oil!! for those of us who don't want to go "all the way" HAHAHAH. I bought some in 20-50w. It should be the best of both worlds.... I'm gonna put about 2.5 quarts in it and see how much is in the sight glass... then I'm gonna run the engine for a minute, then add another dollop, then, without checking the sight-glass again, I'll pour the rest in my truck and go for a ride...
