frame question

Hi all.
I just took off one of the axles of the unitrack. I had to really beat on it to take
it off. It seems the frame is bent. Or maybe this is the way it is?

The axle will not go through both holes easily. I have to bent the frame with my hands and hammer it in.

Should i worry about this or just hammer it back in and pull jumps and wheelie again.
Anybody else had this problem? Or is this the way the frame is made. The bike
has never been crashed but has jumped many times.
Can I get the bearings out of the link or are they pressed in there.
One of them is not moving at all. Any suggestions.

Look what I got for Christmas. It's a mini KLR.

Anyone knows where I can get a bigger model?
Thankx

Seems to be the way it is especially if it wasn't adequately
greased. Wait till you get to the swingarm axle. When we removed Rex's we
had to pound it full blast with a wood splitter (a heavy blunt axe). Bogdan

You may want to try loosening all the engine mounting bolts. This may allow the frame to relax back into alignment. When I installed my Progressive rear shock, I did this before removing any of the link hardware or the swingarm pivot bolt. I found that by doing so, I was able to disassemble everything without any force, even though the main link pivot bolt had started to corrode. Upon reassembly, I snugged everything up, then torqued the engine mount bolts last. I used Sta-Lube Moly-Graph grease on all bearings and bolts (but not the threads).
Good luck,
Dennis

Sounds cool! Anyone got any good trail links or map links to the
area? How is the trail riding there? I've got a serious case of the
winter dooldrums going on and I just got to throw a leg over the KLR
before I go insane!!!

Geez! I said "Fort Smith"??? LOL.....I meant Fort Davis!
