Hi,   I'm researching an article for Law and Order magazine on motorcycle cops who ride dual sport bikes instead of the usual Harleys or Kawasaki's.   Any information, leads, or contacts would be greatly appreciated!   I'm looking to interview cops mostly in the Southwest who would be willing to talk about the different aspects of law enforcement they encounter while on these bikes.   Thanks a bunch!   Dan Cichello danc@...

Probably not of much use, but took a dual-sport trip to Andulusia (Southern Spain) a few weeks ago. The law enforcement ride both BMW R1100RT's and KLR-650's. They always ride in pairs.   Kind of a long way to go for an interview, however.      [quote] -----Original Message-----

Amigos, this is directly from the horses' mouth, I received a special
leaked message from some of my connections in the Blue Knights of the
Royal Jelly Donut. I'll pass it along to you verbatim.

"Local authorities are using dual sport motorcycles in the new elite
group (COD-PEACE) being organized to protect donut shops against
terrorist attacks aimed at taking contol of the donut supply, and
thus immobilizing local police forces. The dual sports will enable
the elite team of Cod-Peace Officers to gather up existing donut
supply and abscond into the desert away from the evil terrorists,
guarding the supply in a safe haven for their peers."

This is all I've been given permission to release at this time.

That was so funny, I forgot to laugh. This guy is asking for some
assistance, and you've got to act like an ass. NOT COOL.

If you can't laugh at yourself, don't dare laugh at another. And lighten up
a little, it was just harmless fun.

You should keep your insults to yourself. Is it so funny to poke fun at
another's profession? Think of what your doing from a police officers
standpoint the crap your writing is a very offensive slam at a chosen
career. Your probably one of those anti law enforcement whiners until you
need some help.   Grow up

I suppose that you have never laughed at a joke about lawyers or any other
profession? This was a harmless joke. My brother, brother in law and my
uncle are all police officers, and they got a kick out of the forwarded
message. I think perhaps this has hit too close to home for some...

Some people have no sense of humor. My sister is a cop (a real one),
she thinks it's funny. She's always right, so there.

A very good friend of mine is a PA State Trooper. He has a bumper
sticker on his car that says, "Bad cop...no donut!"
