Up in the morning and after coffee I was faced with the daily
dilemma, which bike to ride? I didn't want to pull the Bandit out of
the living room even tho it is easy, and I have been on the BMW all
week. So I opted for the lately-ignored KLR (sitting there with full
tank) and we headed out on a hundred mile brewery/twisties/hangout
ride. I was bundled up in levis under leathers and my leather
Klingonmangaro jacket which has a great winter liner and some
TourMaster Coldtex gloves (great gloves by the way).
I rode twisties out Skaggs Springs and WestSide Roads, and did some
hanging at a couple of delis and a brewery. Great beer in Healdsburg.
I didn't see many Davidsons out today, too cold for them I guess.
Upon returning home this evening, I had to reflect on just what a
great great bike is the KLR. I think I'll take it to work all week.

We just had two glorious days of weather in the hill country, sunny and
65 degrees! Only had time for two relatively short KLR rides, one
yesterday and one today but they were definitely the highlight of the
weekend. Found several winding, one-lane roads that I had never ridden
before. Had to be careful because there was still some water from
recent rains running across some of these back roads. Took pictures of
some wallaby's (not native to Texas) at Natural Bridge Caverns. I found
Edge Falls again, a pretty little swimmin' hole that I hadn't been to
since I drove my 55 chevy there in 1966. There were riders everywhere
but I only had one possible KLR siting. I feel very lucky to be this
close to some great riding country. Had time to ride and still get back
to the house for leftover turkey, and,,,,,,, I definitely agree,,,,
about the Shiner Bock!!
