[dsn_klr650] motorcyclist mag writer mcquide killed - nk lr

It is most disturbing when a veteran rider has a bad day. One of my heroes
was killed last year. I'm speaking of Apollo 12 astronaut Pete Conrad, 3rd
person to walk on the moon, who died in a motorcycle accident last year.
This really disturbed me that the best of the best who have all the right
stuff can go out this way. It really makes you think long and hard. Nobody
is really safe. Murphy's Law I guess. I am going to cool out for a while
because I have had several close calls in the past two weeks through no
fault of my own. It's pure luck that I didn't go down or get hit, pure luck.
God bless all of you.

the two incidents involving our fellow riders has brought a renewed sense of apprehension to my daily commute...could have been my day this morning as I was coming down my favorite hill and started to slow for a left hand turn...the driver stopped at the intersection pulled out and when it was way to late turned back to the right and saw me and acknowledged his error with a shake of his head...if I hadn't slowed I'd have been toast...
