I have noticed on my 88 KLR as well as others that the head pipe has a tendency to discolor over time. I've tried repainting with a variety of high temp paints without much success. The pipe apparently is a stainless steel unit, which is beyond me why Kawasaki would paint this. It should be like the KLX pipe, unpainted SS. Is there any way to fix this problem? Would a KLX head pipe fit? Craig Highline A2

That's awful, Tom. Best wishes to the both of you. To all: In relation to the "Do Not Remove Helmet" sticker, I saw an article a couple of years back about a helmet removal bladder that someone invented. You install it in the top of your helmet, and there's a tube that runs out the bottom. If you are in an accident, the paramedic inflates the bladder, and it pops your helmet off of your head. Your head should be strong enough to support the bladder, since it was protected by the helmet (vs. your neck, spine, etc. when someone pulls it off). I'm not sure if mouth pressure is enough to inflate it, or you need a little pump. A syringe would probably work. Anyway, they wouldn't market it because of the potential for liability suits.
