Hi All, I've had a desire to own a dual purpose bike for years, but at 5'-6" and with a 29" inseam, I didn't think I would even be able to throw a leg over anything (especially at my advanced age of 53), never mind get both feet down at a stop. I understand with the really long suspension travel that these bikes are much more comfortable than a regular street bike, true? Now I see from some websites that there is a lowering kit available which I would definitely be interested in. I would probably trade in my '99 Nighthawk on a new KLR except for the color of this year's model. Am I the only one who doesn't like it? Anyway, I live in upstate New York and perhaps someone can point me to a bike that's for sale privately in the area. Anywhere within a 200 mile radius would be ok. My local dealer has a used one but it looks pretty beat up and the asking price is $3,999. I don't even know what year it is, but I know this dealer always asks top dollar for their merchandise. Maybe I should wheedle a test ride anyway, just to see what's what. OK, that's about it for now. If anyone has info or justs wants to cheer me on, my e-mail addr is abmore@.... Thanks, ABM PS: Is there someway I can get a copy of all the posts in this group sent to me? 0
