[dsn_klr650] oil
I wonder if the 20/50 Mobil 1 is overkill for the KLR under normal temps.
Might be a good choice in sub zero weather, but I'm not planning on riding
in anything under 40 degrees.
I recently changed my oil and upgraded to the Mobil 1 MX4T 10w/40 4 cycle
motorcycle oil.
Purchased at Autozone for 7.99/QT. You can also buy this online
www.mobil1.com @ $46/case (6-quarts) basically same price at autozone, but I
cannot recall if there was a shipping charge.
Bike runs very smooth when compared to conventional oil. I noticed a slight
drop in engine TEMP as well.
I have not noticed any difference with the clutch, but it does shift a lot
smoother than before.
As an aside from the oil topic.....I fixed/replaced the broken frame bolts
and replaced other missing pieces using the part numbers from the
www.buykawasaki.com website. The dealer was stunned when I listed off all
the part numbers and knew what I was talking about....I tought it was funny!
I love the internet...
Just my 2 cents....
