Hi, Some time back, the list helped someone with a similar problem discover that the shift lever was hitting the skid plate ( or something ) at the lower end of its travel, causing missed down shifts. Something to check, anyway. I don't recall having any trouble downshifting on my A14. I miss upshifts, though. Mostly bad technique, I guess. I'm just a newbie, but I second the Professor's tip to preload the shifter before hitting the clutch. It really works well for me. Dave Leslie A14 .833K Richmond, VA
