http:// new bike advice - wash out on sandy roads

Just a few thoughts came to mind. First off I really dig the second bike approach, although I doubt I would get that one past the war department here at home. The big horse, tall, top heavy KLR650 can get a big spooky on off road gravel and sand -especially with stock tires. (I am still picking sumac out of my radiator) But I have become a total believer that the KLR can do what ever you wish depending on the tires you outfit it with. I currently am running Kenda trackmasterII (760??) and off road has once again become a blast!! no it still isn't a dirtbike (if your a ricky Carmicheal wannabe) but it will handle nicely off road. and talk about traction! So if you don't mind wrestling rubber once in a while, try some decent DOT knobbies. there are lots of good choices. IMHO Kenda are good tires and cheap. ride safe, todd Chaska MN A16 06 700 efi
