nklr:what?s the biggest thing you have seen flying down the roa
Slide,
You turned around. Today the only reason people would turn around is to
finish you off, if they don't just take off and leave you for dead. Very
well practiced routine here in Miami, Fl.

Okay one more for the road....
Its 83' and me and my honey are bombing out 126 in my
66' El Camino. Its summer, hot...I'm hauling a load
of storage items to my folks in the Cali. desert....
Four El Camino wheels with inflated tires, are laid
ontop of the load to hold it down...The load is below
cab height....but the car travels above the speed limit
easily....
I'm heading East in one lane, two lanes of on-coming
are approaching....I hear a thud, glance in the rearview
and one wheel has caught air and flipped off the back.
I look ahead, and the opposing oncoming pack is nearing.
I check the rearview again...the tire is flipping in the lane
behind me, then hits just right and launches.....It takes
about a 20' arc in the air.....At last glance it appeared
as though it were going to drop on the hood or windshield
of the lead car in the pack(A Cadillac)......I had to look
in front of me again and when I took that last fleeting
glance back, the cars were scattering like pins in a bowling
alley just after a strike.....
I was reasoning that my life had just come to an end when
I turned the car around, and headed back....
The driver of the cadillac was actually quite polite, while
his wife demanded my head be served on a platter from
a distance....Actually the tire had missed all cars....The
El Dorado driver had swerved and missed it, lost a hubcab....
The rest of the cars had split.....
A Caddy hubcab, and learning to tie down loads was a cheap
price for me that day......alotta learning at a very lucky price.
confessing....

Well Gino saw a big pig BMW GS! Well I was riding one of those
pigs(1150GS)last week heading towards Corbin Saddles in Hollister. I was
powering around a nice sweeper when I see a double trailer dirt hauler
approach from a side road. I slow down and he seems to have seen me and was
holding for me to pass. I crank it on again and then the behemouth moves out
into the road. I grab all of my front and rear brakes. The ABS engages and I
come to a reasonable speed short of the truck. He had only crossed into my
lane leaving the far lane open. I head for the left lane and as I pass in
front of the truck my right arm raises to give him the one finger salute!
Just as I was about to raise my finger I realized he had given me an escape
lane and he was as scared as I was! My finger stayed down and my raised fist
became the victory pump saying "We did it!" I was so glad I didn't flip him
off! I feel the ABS brakes saved my bacon again! I wonder how many lives
this "cat" has lived?
