front wheel replacement?
Nasty cracks.  Can you do some scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for us to look at?  It might be inter granular failure due to improper heat treatment or metal contamination in the part.

     Mostly kidding, but it's possible.

That is definitely more than one crack though.  So it wasn't a "one hit wonder".  I would say that it's a defect in the material or in the fabrication.  It would be good to see the other side and that SEM would be fun too.  Maybe you could get the manufacturer to care about it (prolly not).

front wheel replacement?
Mostly kidding, but it's possible. Would love to be able to do that. http://books.google.com/books?id=iEeiQEeLOmYC&pg=PA64&lpg=PA64&dq=aluminum+igc&source=bl&ots=EHqaRYQ-Sg&sig=76Ui3MsrYORvA-grObiIcGnUAxw&hl=en&ei=OeecTMz5FZOcsQP70uzVAQ&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=3&ved=0CCIQ6AEwAg#v=onepage&q=aluminum%20igc&f=false That is definitely more than one crack though. Maybe you could get the manufacturer to care about it (prolly not). Yes, that was my thought, too (that it was unlikely to have happened just because of one or two hard hits). The crack was not really visible on the other side to begin with. Now that I've removed the spoke tension, even the main crack is less obvious. front wheel replacement?
It is possible that those spokes were either too tight or too loose (either could do it) and the wheel flexed excessively in that area and those are short cycle fatigue cracks.  If the spokes are too tight, the stress on the wheel is excessive and the high stress leads to early fatigue failure.  If the spokes are too loose, that section of the wheel moves more than it should, and the resulting high stress fails it the same way for a different reason.

I am still tending towards a material problem though.  I wonder how the hardness compares to the standard.
Too hard can lead to IGC failure in many cases.

front wheel replacement?
WOW!

Well, I am sure you have heard your fill on why it may have happened. Now onto the important part...What to upgrade with for replacement parts.

 Call these guys
 Cycle Gear, 6280 S. Pecos Rd. (702) 435-0635

These guys showed me a wheel builder out of Salt Lake City that builds some great aluminum rims and hubs. Spoke thickness of your choice. Color of your choice. They have a set on the sales floor and boy do this set look good. Lighter, thicker and stronger than stock.

I may switch to a 18 rear and 19 front on my next tire change.
Whatever you buy will most likely have to be shipped anyway...Upgrade time!

Doesn't have anything to do with public officials performing public
duties either. Matters not since the Internet is the great leveler of
 playing fields

The wiretap laws that are allegedly being broken have to do with sound
recordings and have nothing to do with video recording unless it
 includes sound.

F him, Neopolotano and his states Neo Nazis can kiss my hairy back side.

I just mounted a goPro under the GPS plate on my handle bars where it is
not noticeable and I can turn it on without doing so being noticed. The
record LED has been covered too. I will video everything from now on and
if anybody has a problem with it I will do everything I can to make the
video they dont like go viral. I think everybody should do the same to
let the world know they need to act resposibly since someone is always
 watching.

To any Cops on the list I appologize ahead of time but video mode is now
on and staying that way. Welcome to the information age!
