Call me weird, I kinda like the Piaggio scooter 3 wheeler. 2 wheels in front make more since to me (especially if they lean) than 2 in back. i'd rather have over-steer than under-steer. Criswell

That would be registered as a motorcycle in Minnesota, too, as would a sidecar rig, a morgan Three Wheeler, a Triking, a Freeway HMV and that 3-wheeled can-Am.

I'd say that any machine with an engine, one wheel in front and two driving wheels behind is a bloody highway wreck scene just waiting to happen.

I agree. A friend was building one once out of a 76 AMF Sportster. Talk about a disaster waiting to happen. 76 was not Harley's best year.He was so indoctrinated with Harley propaganda, the rear portion was from an old Harley 3 wheeler as it had to be all Harley. Short wheelbase, springer front end with no front brake. Can you imagine going into a rain slick curve and having to brake? I am glad he lost interest in it or ran out of money. The carburetor leak was about to set him on fire that he never fixed and the oil leak on the rear tire when it was a bike was about to send him into oblivion. I understand old guys unable to throw their leg over a bike anymore and be attracted to 3 wheelers ......... but to me a Miata (which I own one) is a much better option. I have looked at some awfully unsafe looking 3 wheelers, some with VW engines or even worse, big V-8's. Can you imagine the understeer on some of these things. At least the Gold Wing ones seem to be engineered well. Criswell

I like that 3 wheeled car that Steve Urkel drove. I believe they were made by BMW. I know it isn't related to motorcycles, but as long as we are confessing weirdness, I thought I would throw that out there. Rick A17

I think that BMW made a vehicle the same as the Issetta, 700 cc engine etc; I saw them racing at Trauen in Germany back in '68. There was a series of 3 wheeled delivery vans in England for a long time, (they are banned now), which had the Villiers 198 cc 2 stroke engine. One brand was the Bond, I think another was the Regal, but we are digging a long way back, into pretty sparse knowledge to start with. DC Randall Marbach wrote:
