You didn't piss me off at all. I just jumped into the middle of a thread that has been going on for a while, that I had read a few of the comments days ago and dismissed the thread as a waste of time. I don't even know what you were posting, other than to suggest that clearly off topic posts were marginally ok (at least with you). I quickly looked at the thread a few minutes ago, and noticed a few people bemoaning that the thread was still going on. So I just threw in my 2 cents worth. It was not directed at you. I just responded to the KLR list as a whole. It was probably a little snippy, but most people don't have time to prepare a carefully worded post that won't offend anyone, yet get their message out. (In the same vein, I always laugh at the do-gooders that always seem to be present to correct other peoples' grammar and spelling) This is a common problem on any list, as well as spam. In general, clearly way off topic threads are allowed to go on for a while, and then the posts begin to get nasty to get people to stop. At some point the admin drops the posters from the list. The red comment was just a bad joke due to the fact the thread in general was of a political nature, and that the color red seems to be popular with the communists. Nothing more. My race car is red. I simply don't see the harm. No "deeper" than that. Opinion only. Some are quite interesting. This one just seemed to run away. How about when there is a long running thread on tires, when there was just another long running thread on tires a week earlier, and 2 weeks before that. Some real wisdom usually kills this type of thread. "...I know that the Lord is always on the side of the right. But it is my constant anxiety and prayer that I and this nation should be on the Lord's side." The Inner Life of Abraham Lincoln: Six Months at the White House by Francis B. Carpenter (Lincoln, Nebraska, University of Nebraska Press, 1995), p. 282. Also, Recollections of Abraham Lincoln by Ward Hill Lamon (Lincoln, Nebraska, University of Nebraska Press, 1994), p. 91. "If I were to try to read, much less answer, all the attacks made on me, this shop might as well be closed for any other business. I do the very best I know how - the very best I can; and I mean to keep doing so until the end. If the end brings me out all right, what's said against me won't amount to anything. If the end brings me out wrong, ten angels swearing I was right would make no difference." The Inner Life of Abraham Lincoln: Six Months at the White House by Francis B. Carpenter (Lincoln, Nebraska, University of Nebraska Press, 1995), pp. 258-259. "Those who deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves; and, under a just God, can not long retain it." The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln edited by Roy P. Basler, Volume III, "Letter To Henry L. Pierce and Others" (April 6, 1859), p. 376. "As I would not be a slave, so I would not be a master. This expresses my idea of democracy. Whatever differs from this, to the extent of the difference, is no democracy." The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln edited by Roy P. Basler, Volume II, (August 1, 1858?), p. 532. "Let us have faith that right makes might, and in that faith, let us, to the end, dare to do our duty as we understand it." Lincoln's Cooper Institute Address, February 27, 1860. "I leave you, hoping that the lamp of liberty will burn in your bosoms until there shall no longer be a doubt that all men are created free and equal." The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln edited by Roy P. Basler, Volume II, "Speech at Chicago, Illinois" (July 10, 1858), p. 502. -----Original Message----- From: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com [mailto:DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com]On Behalf Of jokerloco9@... I have a seemingly new small Suomy helmet but it says Ducati on it in white. It is black silver white. I would like to trade for a medium. Something similar condition and quality. My GF bought this excellent helmet that appears and smells like it never has been used; but it is too small for her. The quality of it seems as good or better than my Shoei. So, I would prefer to trade. I am in SoCal. Jeffrey nakedwaterskier@...
