riding at night

Post by stevedyer@cox.net » Mon Jun 30, 2008 3:32 pm

Fortunately it's been a long time since I had to do much long-distance driving through the night, and I avoid it unless I'm well-rested. Have many of you experienced hallucinations when driving solo at night while seriously fatigued? The interplay of headlights and shadows on the roadway create shifting patterns that appear to me as fleeting images of animals, buildings, and other imaginary things .... all while I speed through the night flirting with the edge of consciousness. Bad deal, and seems to me not much different from drunk driving.
