We hope you will find this site useful, and entertaining. You can
find news about the world famous Julian KLR tech days, and a few
tidbits of info about the KLR650 that we have found beneficial.
There's a lot of useful info on the KLR650 out here on the internet.
We're going to tell you what works for us, and how we did it. We're
not going to tell you what to do. Anything printed here has actually
been done - for instance, we won't offer any advice or opinions on
products that we haven't worked on, or had personal experience with.
Some things are subjective; what works for us may not work for you,
and vice versa. So, we would encourage you to read all the info you
can, and make up your own mind!
If you have questions, or need clarification, you are welcome to
call, or email. The best way to get answers and experience is to show
up at one of the Tech Days. If you do not sign your real name, you
won't get a response. We want to keep this on a positive note - and
appreciate your help!

I and several others on this forum belong to a sub-sect of the BMW crowd
called "Airheads" (older air-cooled "boxer" twins last made in the mid-80s
and then again for a short burst in the mid 90s but no more). The
membership is $25/yr and you get a 24 page monthly news booklet (with
pictures) that cover trips, calendar of events, bikes for sale, and a great
tech section. We can buy T-shirts, hats, etc. with the Airhead logo and the
slogan "Simple By Choice". We also receive a member directory every year
that I carry on the longer trips so I know who I could call for some help if
I breakdown.
I attend many of the local Tech Days to help others "wrench" on their bikes
and learn. I also attend weekend campouts like the Tent Float,
Moss-Gathering, and the Trout Run every year. We have a hell of a good time
and many members from adjacent states routinely attend each other's events.
With such a wide following, I oftened wondered why the KLR crowd hadn't
developed a rider/owner group like that.
