Why are they in jail Jud? Possibly for failing to meet the minimum chrome requirement on their ride? Maybe for passing two donut shops in a row?

Great job! Keep up the stereo-typing!
What other groups of people do you put down to make yourself feel better?

I'm surrounded by the HD a-hole crowd. When I see them in action, I cannot
fathom their infantile need to attract attention to themselves and do it in
such a manner as to offend others. I seriously think many of them have
psychological issues such as inadequacy and insecurity. When they get
together in groups, they overcome their individual fears and as a whole,
become arrogant and obnoxious. It is my feeling that individually, they are
small people unable to accept themselves as who they are and desperately
craving to free themselves of their inadequacies. They are truly pathetic.
My biggest fear however is wondering what is wrong with our society to
produce so many of these losers? Is it a result of our rapid paced
lifestyle that our significance as individuals is reduced to the point where
the mentally marginal must resort to adorning themselves with gaudy
accessories and machines just to satisfy their basic need to be recognized?
I take great satisfaction knowing that I have the fortitude and aptitude
to see myself as who I am and not have the desperate desire to stoop to such
depths for recognition from others.
Be thankful you are not in their ass less chaps.

Actually, no. I have a Yamaha YZF-R6 and a Husqvarna TC450 along with my
KLR. I've never owned a Harley before but I have friends that have or used
to have a HD. They're nice but not for me.
I just disagree with blanket statements you make about a group of people
based solely on what kind of bike they ride or how they act at one point in
time. There's a-holes in every group.

SNIP Hey Greg, Great Post. I do believe you would have been a GREAT Hodaka rider: they called one bike DIRT SQUIRT, and with that story, you are a DIRT SQUIRTER! I do believe I would have had to make a 'discreet' phone call to a LEO and let him know that there were 4-DUI's waiting at the Dew-Drop- In. Who knows, you might even save their life. Rant Switch: ON IRT to DUI's, and its relationship to DARWINISM.... I carried a severe trauma this morning, that my shift mate picked up in the ditch this morning; broken neck, broken arm (for starters) . He was 0.097 BAC >2.5 hours after the accident, 20F and all he was wearing was a T-Shirt and a pair of shorts; he was approaching 96F core temp. If he had not been talking to his girlfriend on the cell phone at 3am at the time of the accident, no one would have known he had had a wreck. (Talking on the phone in all likelihood contributed to his lack of attention.) It took an hour to find him, then an hour or more to extract him, and the prognosis is not good. There was enough plumbing in and out of him to plumb 3 kitchens. It would have been 'cheaper' to plumb three kitchens! Turbo rant: ON If you got to drink, and you want to go home, please call a cab. The most needless accidents I work always involve alcohol. Is anybody listening?!?!?!?!? Rant switch: OFF Greg: check six, some of those HD chromies have a long memory, and they will 'remember' when they are in a cage, and you are on the KLR revmaaatin. 911 Careflight, Aberdeen, SD ps Just what is the range of the KLR, DIRT-SQUIRTER?> that nylon sxxt with jap letters on it?" I responded by ignoring > him, eating my meal in silence, then ripping through the mud hole > next to their bikes at mach 12 when I was leaving. Enjoy polishing > that chrome boys!!!

I'm a 53 year old rider of almost 45 years riding time (started on dirt bikes) and have owned about 20 motorcycles in that time. When I rode my 1984 XLX Sportster 1000, I never wore assless chaps, and I made it a point to wave at any riders. The XLX was a stripped down, blacked out Sporty-flat black exhaust, flat black bars, black paint, no tach, solo seat, no passenger pegs.I may be the only one, but I left that bike 100% stock and just rode it.No bandanas, earrings, tatoos, cut off jean jackets.........no extra chrome (on a bike with about no chrome anyway). Wait-I did wear a Sportster belt buckle.I did have one big twin rider call my bike a "shortster".
I won't put up with anyone harrasing me for what I ride.I ride a KLR650 and a Vulcan 800 Classic right now.Noone has said a bad word when I ride them to work at the HD/Buell dearler I work at.I've had coworkers say "metric" bikes, but none of the "riceburner, jap crap, " or any of the other well known put downs.I've had coworkers ask me about my KLR, and talk about what a fun ride it would be.
I posted a question at an HD forum with the title "whats the deal with chaps?", basically asking why, if your going to wear some leather, would you leave your butt-cheeks out there to be ground to hamburger should you go down sliding on your backside? Most of the answers were pretty thoughtful, except for one blathering idiot who somehow took offense at my question. Many said they couldn't afford leather pants, but could get the chaps for the weather protection.

I was out riding my Harley today, and what did I see? A young kid on a
sportbike, with a LOUD pipe, doing about 75 in a 35 zone, splitting traffic.
Guess what? All you Japanese bike riders aren't perfect. So why don't you
get a life and find something productive to do instead of jerking each other
off?

Thanks for that Jeff.
Somehow, your comment sounds about what we would expect from the average HD owner. Keep up the good work.
