Why ? I enjoyed your spirited rebuttal. I didn't think it was over the top. You simply thought it your duty to educate a lister a bit short on imagination. Steve somehow never learned that art and sport have a function far beyond their specific areas. They inspire the human spirit and that spills over to " practical " matters. That's why the ancient Greeks came up with the Olympics where - BTW - chariot racing was the most popular event. That's also why they made those incredible statues and wrote those wonderful plays. Least we can do is to continue the tradition. Bogdan

I move that Steve H. be sent to his room without supper. All those in favor, say Aye...........all those opposed....tuff shitsky! I also move that Stu be made to write 20 times, in proper cursive, "I will not call Steve H. an S. Head". (although it may appear to most experienced hands that he is) You boys need to play nicely........can't you all just get along???????? Nuff said!! Hey Russ, will we see you on the 19th? Stu has an adventure planned down Chariot Canyon on the old Jackass Mail Route. Harry Seifert bseifert71@...

I should be there. Sounds like a good warm up for Adelanto. I need some new rubber shoes for my rat bike. Think I'll get some Karoos this time. Fair enough comment. I don't know why he would unsubscribe. My only retort is that I find it very odd that a difference of opinion on this list seems to degenerate to this level. I thought a forum was a place to express views...any views ? I don't expect people to agree with me...and actually enjoy a good discussion. I doubt I know any more about what you have learned or not learned, than you me. I live in a world full of fake reality and fake role models. Pardon me for having a contrary opinion. But I won't unsubscribe. All you have to do is hit delete when, as Stu tells me, my "drivel" appears. Now to lengthen my imagination ! Steve

Stu, Don't do it. It's not allowed. You are too integral a part of this list to leave. As a long-time lurker who used to frequent the discussions on the list in the late 1990's and onward, I can understand CA Stu's apparent position. I have never met Mr. CA Stu Mumford in person, having missed him a time or two at Moab, but from what I know he's an insightful man with a global perspective. Over the years he has made me laugh til I cried, and offered technical and philosophical perspectives that no one else could. If Stu stops participating, then he would go the way of Gino Pokluda, Sir Kurt Simpson, Redondo Ron and a number of others who were the founding members and brilliant forces behind this most unusual forum. I hope Stu sticks around, but from my own experience would understand why he might think there are other ways to spend his time. Stuart aka "Fireball" Cedar, Michigan

My official Steve retort. If you want to harangue about athletes getting too much attention, lets start with the NBA, MLB, and NFL. When was the last time anybody got killed in any of these pro sports. And look at how much they get paid, and they don't even risk their lives. The coverage of the Super Bowl, ridiculous. In other words, if your going to shoot somebody down, at least aim it at the right target. Russell -----Original Message----- From: Steve H.
