** where can i find a good klr mechanic in the bay area? **

Post by Tim » Sun Jul 20, 2003 11:53 pm

To those planning a Santa Rosa area tech session, I'd love to invite myself along. But, I don't actually own a KLR yet. My plan is to pick up a new one within a month or two, I just haven't yet. But I would love to come and start the proces of learning about the bike, lend a helping hand where it might be needed. If ya'll think that a future KLR owner is allowed, please let me know. Tim in San Rafael (back in town after August 5th).

But who is going to show you the "Super Secret KLR handshake" prior to delivery of a KLR ? Can't be me, Santa Rosa sounds like a left coast town name to me, I am far far away from there. Dooden A15 Green Ape

dave kudos to you... as a retired motor officer I think you did the right thing... look at it this way... ya they had attitude and pissed you off but you were the better man and kept yoour cool, composure and tact... if ya get stopped by these guy's again they'll probably remeber you were'nt a__holes and let ya go. Use it as a way to network with the local PD's... show'em you're on the level and you'll have less trouble with'em. I some times feel the same way! I was out with a group of guy's riding... kinda on the edge of allowed riding areas... we were stopped, but we kept our cool and were straight up with the law... they actually advised us were we could ride and the access point too! So you were actually the good guy and they were just doing there job... maybe not the most tactfully way to be with "john q. citizen" give'em a break... maybe the last 10 guys they stopped were jerks and pissed'em off... you just happened to be #11... been there done that... we all have bad days... right?
