Do you remember the First Gear jacket model that got the "34.5"? Which Fieldsheer model lost against which Joe Rocket? The Mule

I think that the Fieldsheer air-mesh jackets are better constructed and cheaper. They come with CE approved armor and can be had from www.newenough.com for $89 I believe. The one really noticeable difference is that the FS mesh is a tighter weave and feels heavier than the JR stuff. Didn't the MCN article rate the FS pretty high as well? The order was Firstgear Mesh Tex (34.5), Teknic Supervent (34), Joe Rocket Phoenix (33.4), Kushitani Mesh (33), Dianese Air (26.5), BMW Airflow 2 (21.5 - take that BMW), Feildsheer Titanium Air (21). With ambient air at 77 they measured jacket surface temp after sitting in the sun 20 minutes: yellow 95, red 104, Silver 104, Blue 105, black 109. First. I am not aware of the diff between the original JR Phoenix and the 2.0 referenced. Just received the Phoenix for daughter from Motoxoutlet.com for $85 (includes the $15 s/h , yeah.. that is high for s/h) Came in just two days! I was guessing that the low price reflected a discount due to a new updated model coming out. I used the jacket pants combo last summer and at 114 deg F on the Concours which is noted for getting very hot for the rider. In NV I was real pleased with it. I is still hot at that temp but would have been a possible heat stroke victim in the 'Stich or HJC outfit. That along with the Mira Cool vest and CamelBack water supply made it survivable. Dan P
