What is the name of the owner (Thomas Ridner?) of the lodge and is that the lodges 800 number. I think if enough of Lew's friends from the list give him a phone call, he may be convinced it would be good PR to pay the Vet bill. Even more so if the local paper prints a story telling everyone what a generous lodge owner and animal lover he is. I doubt he would like it printed that he was a cheap slob who could care less about his paying customers, and has a very mean watchdog who mistakes tiny, defenseless yorkies for kibbles n' bits. He could set up a PayPal account. I've used PayPal and you just have to go online to have funds transferred from your PayPal account to your personal bank account. This might work pretty well for Lew and save him from having to find a bank to cash these checks at. Brad
