Devon, Check the archives under "countershaft" and maybe "shim kit". But basically, the 95's and earlier used a different mounting system than the later models. The 2 bolt retention system uses a keyed plate to lock the sprocket into place on the countershaft. The Kawasaki plate can sometimes be loose or worn so that the sprocket floats a little bit on the shaft splines. It is the opinion of some that it is supposed to be loose and the opinion of others that it should be tight. Some people have reported galled and/or worn splines from loose sprockets. Anyway, if you want the sprocket tight on the shaft, Jakes shim kit will do it. He includes a replacement keyed plate which is heavier duty and thicker than the OEM. Also included are a bunch of shims that you can use to tighten things up even more. He said he uses a .004" shim on his. I haven't installed mine yet so I can't tell you anymore than that at this time. Brad --- Devon Jarvis wrote:
