Fred-
Made it home but on 4 wheels (rental van) instead of 2. The countershaft bearing disintegrated in Flagstaff. Chain slack? And I really thought I was following conventional wisdom (and Kawasaki spec) with my adjustment regimen. It seems that the lesson is looser is better. Live and learn. Now if I only live long enough to do all my learning. Looking for a used engine now since I am really pleased with the way the KLR worked for me on this trip and I want to keep it going. With any luck, I'll be out your way again. Thanks for your help and guidance

need a gen i kill switch
Didn't make as nice a slow speed turn as I'd have liked and broke the
kill switch on the lay over. Anyone got one around for a Gen I, I'd
appreciate a purchase.
Thanks,
Todd
