Hey Y'ALL 

Need someone with newer bike (or low miles) to measure there kickstand IN/OUT play.

When in the down or up position how mush movement is "normal".

I mount & dismount my stead, oops, I'm mean, My KLR like a horse, with left foot on the peg.

I have 1-1/12 + inchs of play. (SLOP)

Need to do PMS and repair/replace it, if its alot before it's an ISSUE on a trip loaded with 150lbs of gear.

I also mount my steed the same way, and I'm not a small guy.   I have an older KLR, a '98 model and about every year or so I have to remove my kickstand from the bike and put it in a vise to squeeze it back together, so it doesn't lean over quite so much.  I also slid the forks about an inch up in the triple clamps so it parks more upright.   Paul Streeter

I don't remember which unit I have but it's steel and is rated at 500 lbs. Been using it for near 15 years now and the KLR is the heaviest thing I've carried on it. I had tried air shocks to adjust ride height but later went to air bags on the springs. Much better. I have an inline camper shell on my truck so if wishing to sleep out in the boonies, very able to and have done it on several occasions.
