mich. helmet laws

Post by mark ward » Sat Apr 14, 2012 7:06 am

It passed, the right to choice in Mich. (OVER 21 & at least $20,000 in medical insurance) While I RARELY right without a helmet Etc., I feel itshould be a choice. The REASON for change though is simple......MONEY. TOUREST MONEY, They feel more riders will come to ralys, vacation, etc. from the surounding states that have NO helmet laws. (I agree they will.) I have noticed pretty much ALL "laws" are about The city or states money issue NOT Right and wrong. (Lady "justis" is blindfolded and uses MARKET scales, to weigh, your Crime, against YOUR GOLD.) Figured it finally passed, been seeing (ok HEARING) the Ass Clown's out and about with the "Cool" sunglasses protecting there head. But after have living in a State without the law, I agree I wear at least a helmet. Rode 1/2 mile maybe to auto parts store on a hot summer night to get a couple things for the Camaro I was working on.. Felt cooler (temp that is) but felt naked without a helmet. Good idea? Bad idea? Some seem to think the 15 W 40 W is too thick although I have no issues with either bike. I am running a 10 W 40 W semi-synthetic in my Versys > > Criswell >

Even with My full face, I wear good fitting, all around the eyes, (COOL) Sunglass's. I learned as a Machinest, small things flutter around and make it under the safty glass's, as with dirt, sand, BUGS while doing 25-125mph things make it up under the helmet. Any one thathas seen soft snowflakes has watched them float around in the breeze like a butterfly going EVERYWHERE. I have passed up glass's that I loved the looks of because there was a 1/4inch gap UNDER them and MY EYE. The biggest thing I "like" about the NEW LAW is it shows, they ARE NOW LISTENING TO BIKERS. .................WE DO MATTER IN POLITICS! Next would be getting Michigan to call a motorcycle a "MOTOR VEHICLE" Bikes are not legaly "Motor Vehicle's" in Mich., So insurance and some other medical laws are set differant. Yet the laws we must obay, ARE ALL THE MOTOR VEHICLE LAWS. (INCLUDING PLATES FROM THE DMV)

A beatle in the forehead at 70 feels like a big ROCK, Even a RAINDROP at 70 feels lit a small stone. (WAY back about 80, I lived in Sandiego, and there were NO helmet laws back then in CA., there IS NOW.)

Some feel those without helmets are STUPID, WHILE MOST OF THE WORLD!!!! THINKS JUST RIDING A MOTORCYCLE AT ALL IS STUPID. YEARS AGO, I went to a baptist church, and while they were against smoking (YUK) and drinking (yummy) Because the body is a temple. While they were knocking down POUNDS of Bacon sausage, whiteflour, white SUGAR, ETC ETC ETC. ANY Doc or nutritionest can tell you IS POISON TO THE BODY. HMMMMM PIZZA & ICE CREAM
