valve cover bolt question
Little paranoid about striping the bolts. The manual says 71 in pounds but I only did 50 in pounds.
Is that enough to keep it snug?

valve cover bolt question
I have stripped em even using a 1/4 inch/inch pound torque wrench; doing it according to the book.
Be ready to do a heli-coil; it is a fact of life.
Get the straightest shot you can on each bolt.
A 1/4 inch wobble extension might help esp. on one bolt but according
to the purists a wobble extension won't give you a true torque reading.
I now torque em to 50 inch lbs then run it through a warm up cool down cycle. Then I take a closed end angled wrench and just hand torque em a hair more.

motorcycle/atv ramps
I am batting .500 on riding up a short narrow ramp into a 3/4 ton
pickup. First time, surprisingly easy. Second time, fall off. Third
time, make it but dent the bed and cab.
Haven't tried it since.

This is bad advice! I tighten mine to 12 kiloton-parsecs. Wait, that is not true. I tighten mine sequentially, usually run them all to "snug" with just a ratchet and finish them off to factory spec. with my inch pound torque wrench. The guys that strip them usually did so because they misread "inch pounds" as "foot pounds". Big difference.> > No torque wrench necessary.
