conspicuity light questions

Here is a light that I added to the side of my fairing. http://www.action-fleet.com/store/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=12&products_id=210 I also uploaded a photo the files directory: KLR inprogress.jpg Side LED Amber Marker Light I went with the amber LED and it is crazy bright. It is set to project a horizontal light band so it is "directional" if you will. I have a picture of it at night but not with me. I am away from the house and can take a photo or resend it at a later date. The lights were really cheap and easy to install. A simple 3/4" drill bit hole and the plastic housing snaps into place. It comes with 6" leads that I wired directly into the running light connectors in the wiring harness. It adds a bit more side visibility. I also considered adding a couple of red ones on the back side under the seat but opted not to since my LED brake light is very visible from the side. ps- sorry for the quality of the picture, it was my phone and it was in the middle of some work. The tank and rad shrouds as well as the seat and side cover are just sitting on the bike. I was trying to decide if it was worth painting the parts after I had the tank and shrouds "protected".
