nklr gear wrench caution/ great

Post by mark ward » Fri Dec 23, 2011 1:26 pm

20 yrs as a service tech & 45yrs plus a "tim Taylor" type, I got my first Gear wrenchs about 18yr's ago when I 1st seen them, a little sceptical on worth the money, (Cost more when 1st came out) would I use them enough, I fell in love after the first 2 uses, in tight areas. Now The CAUTION: not great for breaking loose Frozen or over tightened items, It is a ratchet, Use regular 6 point to break loose if to tight, then ENJOY the speed and ease ogf the Gear wrench. Travel Safe! Travel Well, and Enjoy life to the Fullest Mark (Mich.)

...But how do we buy them when the site says "This item is not available"? Why are they even advertising it? I want a set but can't buy it. Thanks, Sears!

It's just THAT BIG SET at that low price you can not get, "Gear wrench" is a brand sold by many, Now huskey (home depot) and others have them in there own name and some have Flex heads

The greatest use on the KLR if for the PIA shift lever bolt. It takes 15 mins to get that bolt out with a regular wrench and you cannot get a socket in there. It takes 2 mins. with a gear wrench. I only bought the 10mm ratcheting wrench...cheap because it is a common car side battery terminal tool. I know to break loose or final tighten with my Snap-on 10mm regular wrench. J#3

I have a set of each SAE and Metric of these Gearwrenches, and the 10 mm chrome flaked off the open end of the 10 mm.. while doing a valve adjustment on my Suzuki Sidekick... not cool.. but otherwise I basically abuse these things and they do not complain. Used a razor to finish chipping off the chrome and made it a 10.35mm minus the chrome plating. Dooden A15 Green Ape

Sounds like bad battery or electrical connections if a new relay starts to buzz. If it runs occasionally the pump must work at least intermittently. Seems cheaper to troubleshoot the wiring first. If you replaced the pump and had the same trouble you'd likely be not too happy. Does voltage drop off at the relay when it's buzzing? Maybe take a bike battery or equiv. and connect it to the pump. If the pump runs better with an alternate power source then the wiring may be at fault. -- ian http://www.scarletfuries.com http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Scarlet-Furies/121218125931 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
