Need to increase the wattage output on my '09. Been reading about the various replacement units and not all the news appears to be good (especially about Electrosport), although much of the negative stuff is pretty old and may be outdated due to improved products from the manufacturers. Quite a bit of the existing info on the net is for '07s and earlier and may not apply to the 650E anyway. My pretty heavy power requirement is a given and I must have the increased power output, so it's a matter of finding the best currently available solution. Anybody have direct experience with stator upgrades? The mechanical/electrical process to replace the unit(s) is not too intimidating, so I'm specifically interested in: 1. Which unit did you install? 2. How much did it increase your usable (real life) output wattage? 3. Did it reliably increase your power output? 4. What trade-offs have you seen? 5. What problems have you had with the upgrade? 6. If you had it to do over again, would you? Haven't installed my EM Doo yet, so I'll do that at the same time I upgrade the stator. As far as I know there is no higher output stator then the stock unit (which has a higher output then 07 and earlier models). I would start by lowering your needs with led replacement lights.
