hand guards at cycle gear?

Does anyone have experience with these Trackside hard gaurds on sale for $45 from$90? Mu concern is they have two pivot points where it mounts to the bars for an easy fit. But doesnt this make it weaker and likly to break at one of the pivots when you fall? [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
