<><><><><><><> <><><><><><><> Mark, Wattman did the first grease zerks as far as I remember. I think he has a write up on his webpage. I haven't heard of any big issues. I kind of recall a few guys commented about putting them in at a different angle or something so they wouldn't be around rocks and such in a tough ride. I haven't done this to my KLR as in my experience, once the bearings are greased they seem to stay greased. Mark: I did it but I keep knocking the one off on the lowest part of the 3-lobe unit. I now have to go back in drill / tap it for the next larger size and put a plug in it. When I want to grease it, I'll take the plug out, thread a zerk in, then re-install the plug. So, is it worth it or not? I would say that it might be better to just put it on a routine maintenance program than make a permanent change (drilling holes). Don R100, A6F

carb problems again

Google KLR650 22 cent mod. It's pretty straight forward. You drill the slide, put a tiny washer under the needle and then play with the slow mixture screw a tad. Benefits? No off-idle stumble, a bit quicker throttle response. Cons? Just gotta be careful with the choke cable fitting and not break it off while moving the carb around. eddie
