First, Happy New Year to everybody from Panama.
Current situation: After a year and a half I finally got the bike on the road on Friday (Yeaaaah !). Some of you might remember that the motor blew up on me in Brazil and I found a used motor replacement that I just got in). The bike ran fine up to about 2/3 throttle, then it cuts out if I don't reduce throttle. I figure that after that amount of time there is congealed gas somewhere (probably related to main jet), so I took the carb apart to do a complete cleaning.
The problem: Everything came apart fine except the pilot mixture screw assembly (parts # 17, 4,3, & 7 on page 172 of the Clymer manual). I was careful and didn't drop anything. The pilot mixture screw and spring came out, but there doesn't seem to be the O ring and washer (parts # 4 & 7) attached. Possible that they are still stuck down in the hole, but it's very hard to see.
Question: What is the best way to check if they are in the hole without damaging or scratching something? If they aren't, then what? My understanding is that the pilot screw handles low speed fuel flow, and that seemed to work fine.
Thanks for your help.

I predict a DNF for the Big Bloviator.

Robby Gordon made a big impression on his entrance to the grand hall of the La Rural exhibition centre to undergo scrutineering. True to himself, the American driver proved to be boldly confident. "I'll say it and I'll say it again, we're here to win the race. We've worked a lot and put in plenty of effort for this rally. Now the challenge is to win the Dakar. We'll need a bit of luck. This car is probably the best prepared that I've ever had. We've worked a lot on the car's height as well the inflation and deflation system. The engine is better. In two days' time, we'll see if we're at the same level as the others". > ________________________________________________________________________ > Jonah Street is back also riding a YZF450. Rule change has most everyone on 450's now. These bikes will rip but might get winded on the long straight flat sections. Wonder how they'll hold up over course of the race? >
