front brake pads
Echoing Jeff's last line---
I guess I'm what one might call an aggressive braker. The OEM pads on my
GL1800 are >50% gone at 13k miles and the fronts on the 09' KLR were
getting thin when I replaced them recently at 8k+ miles. Note: I went ahead
& changed pads while I had everything at hand to install a set of braided
steel lines.
The DL1000 I had went through one set of front pads and *four* sets of rear
pads in 36,000 miles and I am partial to front brakes.
I've had two successive 89' Honda Transalps (single front disc like the
KLR). OEM pads were gone by 6k-7k miles.
I switched out to EBC Kevlars and never changed them again & I rode both
bikes past 35k miles each before selling them.
So, pad compound does make a difference, I guess.
