local kawi dealer closing

Post by Charlie Y » Sat Sep 18, 2010 5:54 pm

My local Kawasaki Dealer  in Brockton, MA is closing its doors . 50 % off some stuff. The place always seemed busy and they have a ton of stuff.  Like hundreds of helmets right there to try on. and you name it as far as gloves, boots, and suits . and dozens of new and used bikes of every kind   Only thing I could find out is that the owner just decided to call it quits.   http://www.brocktoncycle.com/default.asp   Not that it matters, Going to a new place, even though  I've had the same barber for 15 years and his father for 15 before that.   Its just that it was the "birthplace" of my '06 Rugged Red KLR.   Sentimental Old Fool -- cy

It's a sad sign of the times Charlie.  Did a 700 mile loop last week between San Francisco and Humbolt Bay.  This was my sales territory when working.  Noticed in the two years I've been retired several customers gone.  It really grabs ya.  I know several area dealers on the brink.  One BMW shop has already been closed in San Rafael.  Times are most difficult.  If we can support our dealers try to do so.  When they're gone it's a royal PITA if you need something or want OEM support for warranty or possible service.     Monty "ride safe and may all roads lead to adventure"

Re: [DSN_KLR650] How to change tires.
If you still live in Philly and if you feel like riding up to State College and I can show you how.

Hi, I need to have my two tires change. I already bought two Michelin tires on Ebay.  I'm been calling around to find a mecanic who'll do the change, but the answer i got it's. I cant because my insurance will not cover me in case the tire blow, or ok, that will take one hour for each one at $80 hourly (total of $160, almost expensive as my tires). So I figure, I should by the tools, the inner tubes and do it myself. My question is, how hard it's to do the job and where to the tools? Sergio A15.
