I believe that we, as a group, have grown to a scale that requires us to retool a more organized approach to the use of our database space.
I would like to combine several of the databases into one. Members with contact info, bike year, tire preferences, modifications they have made and facebook/Twitter profile should all be assosciated with the member id, bike year. This would allow the me to free up some databases, of which the group has none free at present. I would then like to use one of those free'ed up databases for the parts compatibility database so that it can be scaled as parts are added.
First, I would like the groups thoughts on this. It means the favorite riding songs list would not exist and would instead assosciate the favorite songs with the rider. Some may not like this.
Second I do not have the rights to do this at present and would need your authorization to proceed if the group agrees to this approach, or would need you to pull one of the databases so I can create the new one and migrate the information to it. Then you would need to delete the migrated databases.

Chris has it right-the police don't enforce the current laws. In point of fact the even easier way to arrest the loud bikes is in the federal laws regarding modifying the intake of exhaust systems since they are part of the emission control system. That's been illegal for years and it requires NO instrumentation or procedure other than being able to prove that the original equipment (or certified alternative) is missing.
I'm sick and tired of the 'Loud pipes save lives" crowd. The "personal freedom riders".
I recently heard a definition of "Freedom" it goes:
Freedom is not being able to do whatever You want to do, but rather it's:
To be free of the impacts of those doing whatever they want to do.
Local enforcement is the problem, with the recently developed SAE test method was designed to stand up in court.
I especially like the "impounding" of offending vehicles (maybe after failure-to-cure) and what might get the local PD off their ass is if the fees for impoundment and violation fines might register with the local cities and counties as a revenue source they would change the priorities of the PD. What a thought, Hmmmm.
How do you really feel, Lee?
OK enough of this rant,
Cheers,
Lee

The police need to buy some db meters. Pull over anybody with a loud pipe, test with the db meter and either impound the bike or ticket the rider. Heck they can drag the bikes to the impound lot with a chain tied to the frame for all I care, I hate loud pipes There are already sufficient laws. The cops just dont enforce them. paging the list admin
My first thought is that it is so unorganized that any attempt to rework it
should be welcomed.
My second thought is I hope Fred thinks the same as me (and you).
