First I changed to blade fuse type and from 10 fuse to 15 amp fuse. I added an ultra-white bulb that was still stock 55/60 watt. It helped some but not much.
Next, I added the hi temp socket and a Hella 55/100 watt. The Hella bulb is not colored but is the same old slightly yellow/white color. I was afraid to go 90/100 watt esp. in ultra-white because I didn't want cars flashing their brights at me all of the time and because could get busted for illegal lighting.
Finally I added an extra Optronics light above the existing headlight; where the useless stock 2007 and earlier lame windshield goes. The Optronics lens has a blue tinge to the lens. I added a relay and wired an extra switch. I changed the 35 watt bulb to 70 watt.
Now I can run 55 watts, 55+70 watts, or 70+100 watts(that is what I use for splitting lanes when it isn't daylight). The lights stacked with the slightly blue above sure get the attention of most cagers when I am splitting lanes! No other vehicle that I know of carries such a configuration and cagers think that I might be a cop!
I got a speeding ticket and the CHP didn't mention my lights at all and I had them both on late night on a fwy. Online traffic school sure beats attending in person.
