My wife is a young 57 and I'm only 59. We bought our KLR's in 2006. They are heavily modified as in I took care of all known issues. We've traveled to Canada, a touch of Alaska, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Belize on our bikes. With over 28,000 miles in the last few years they still run strong. I maintain them well. We want to spend 6 months south of the border on our bikes. The economy hasn't been kind to us the last couple of years but we are still hoping to save our money and make it to the Panama canal sometime in the next couple of years.
